This year has seemed to be a thriller.  Not once, but twice this year Michael Jackson's Thriller has found its way to the top of the charts.  Can anybody give me any reason why that this has happened.  The album is 25 years old, yet it manages to get to number 1 this month.
I find it extrememly funny, because people are spreading rumors of him touring, including his own brother, plus reporters and journalists are calling him broke and may be forced back into the spotlight.  Also, aren't they the ones that said he's  a has been.  Then why, oh why, is he at the top of the charts?  Not even with any new material.  Ok maybe at the beginning of the year with the 25th Anninversary.  But those songs were remixes of the origninals.
Now you might say that it's at number one because of all the zombie dancing world record breaking going on around halloween.  Yet is this the cause of this chart topping surge.  Whatever Michael Jackson seems to be doing, he's doing it well.  I haven't heard of anybody topping the charts twice in one year with a 25 year old album.  This feat seems amazing, and that Michael has once again managed to achieve something that no other artist has done.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  So congratulations.  Mr. Michael Jackson, King of Pop, King of Music!!!!

Current Music: That Day

I am a huge Michael Jackson fan, and therefore make it a normal routine for me to look up any new information invloving MJ.  As it so happen's I've notice one thing that make's it seem like every music artist is somehow sampling music from his songs into theirs  (not to be confused with Fall Out Boy's cover of Beat it, beacuse that is a cover not a sample),  or not sampling but paying small tributes to him in their music or music videos.

I first noticed this when I was looking up Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat"  It brought up several different versions of the song, two in particular of the same name but somewhat different.  "Crank Dat Michael Jackson" and "Crank Dat Mike Jack", both being songs about Michael.  A couple of days later I came across a British rap group call the Mitchell Brothers that had a song witih the name "Michael Jackson"  a song dedicating that Michael was indeed their idol.

This was only the beginning.  I have probably heard more, and seen more Michael influences than I care to mention.  I would love to mention the most obvious like Usher, Justin Timberlake and the noob Chris Brown.  Yet they have been using some of Michael's dance moves and other things in their music.

Later came Kanye West sampling P.Y.T. from the Thriller album.  Soon to follow was Rhianna, "Dont stop the Music."

Most recently their is Madonna's "4 Minutes" which samples the song, "Off the Wall" from the 1979 Album Off the Wall.  Then Mariah Carey in her song, off her new album, "I'm that Chick" also samples the song "Off the Wall."

I've just read an interview article that features Ne-Yo, he has a new album with the song called, "Nobody" which is a tribute to the Gloved One.

I suppose that I could go on and on with this.  Yet I really have nothing more to say except that Michael Jackson is everywhere.  Just look from the radio, to the television, even the internet.  He has great influence upon the pop culture, which is why I beleive Elizabeth Taylor gave him the title of the King of Pop, he deserves this title.  Why, just look all around.  Have you seen the Sobe Life Water Commercial with the dancing lizards?  Hello thrillicious?  Thriller, the thriller dance of zombies, only using lizards.

        I'll shut up now.  Lol
****************************** Update*********************

******************************************Update Aug 27, 2008************************

MTV apparetnly wants to get Michael Jackson to perform at VMA's this year.   (like he would anything for them, after everything they put him through.  I doubt he would.  I dont' care if MJ and MTV helped build each other up.)
